Called and received a quote on the phone stating the standard eye exam for a new patient with no insurance was $70-$140. I asked why such a gap and was told, different test cost different prices. Ok, I'm fine with that until I'm filling out the paperwork and read on the back of one of the sheets that an eye exam for a new patient with no insurance is $70-$200. Why tell me something different on the phone? When I finally get my bill. It was $431!!! Then I had them itemize the bill. Ready?Eye Exam, New Patient - $285.00Refraction - $76.00Contact Lens Exam Service Fee - $70.00Patient Payment CC - MasterCard - -$70.00Patient Payment CC - MasterCard - -$46.00Patient Payment CC - MasterCard - -$142.50Courtesy Adjustment - -$30.00Courtesy Adjustment - -$142.50$285 for an eye exam....also shouldn't Refraction be included in an EYE EXAM "seeing" as how that's basically the only thing that gets done, unless they consider dropping delating drops in your eyes the entire $285.I'm not even sure what the he'll the Courtesy Adjustments are for or why they even include them in the first place. Is it possibly to make us, the chumps, feel like we got a good deal?Altogether, I had to pay $258.50 for an exam that wasn't suppose to cost more than around $150. I don't ever know what to make of this bill.***I'm revising this review after I received a call from one of there representatives.***Not long after I posted this review, I received a call from one of there representatives. She was one of the most pleasant people I've ever spoken with on the phone. She apologized and understood my situation. They also understood that some of the current business practices needed to change slightly and had a meeting soon after to cement those changes. They even went as far as to refund me the difference from what I was quoted, to what i actually paid. I honestly was prepared to finish my life without ever visiting another Clemson Eye, but after they sorted everything out, it's restored my faith in the company. Looking forward to another visit. Thank you!!
