LASIK Covered by Your FSA

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) are work-based benefit plans developed to provide flexibility in paying for your health care choices. They are popular because the funds in them are not taxed by the federal government.

You can use these funds to cover LASIK and some other eye care costs – such as eye exams, contact lenses and prescription glasses – for you, your spouse or a dependent.

With FSAs, you’ve got to ‘use em or lose em’, as FSA funds cannot be carried over to the next year. Unfortunately, millions of unused FSA funds are returned to employers each year! So if you have an FSA, check your balance and use it before your benefit year expires, usually December 31.

If you want to be rid of glasses and contacts, and really see what you’ve been missing, call Clemson Eye and ask about using your tax-free FSA or HSA in combination with our current LASIK offer.
