As a Medical Esthetician, it is essential for Kendall to see very small things from extracting pores to treating vascular lesions. Glasses and contacts were an ongoing issue preventing Kendall to best serve her patients on a day-to-day basis.

I arrived at 8:00 AM for my 8:10 AM appointment (10 minutes early, as requested). Danielle C., the front desk patient services representative, never greeted me until after I went over the top and loudly said Hello. She then looked up with a disgusted expression, immediately looked back down, and barely muttered a monotone, annoyed Good morning. Not exactly the welcome a patient expects.During check-in, Danielle asked me several questions I had already answered on the pre-check-in forms. I understand they have to verify information, but the process felt careless and unprofessional. For example, she started asking for my Social Security number out loud in front of a lobby and a line full of people. Only after she saw the look on my face did she hand me a sticky note to write it down. She did more talking than listening, rushed through the process, and dismissed what I said. Even after I explained twice that I had vision insurance, she asked, Did anybody speak to you about self-pay since you have no insurance? When I corrected her, she got ruder and started slamming the computer keys.On the positive side, Ashlee T., the optometric technician, was fantastic. She worked wonderfully with both me and my child, listened carefully, got on my childs level, and treated her with respect and dignity. She even picked up that my child was self-conscious about her glasses without making her feel uncomfortable. Ashlee T deserves recognition and should probably be training Danielle C. on how to speak to patients.Dr. Surratt was excellent as well. He treated my child as if she was the most important person in the room, asking her questions, and letting her answer them and making her feel valued. He did a great job with me, too, but his care for my child meant the most.At checkout, Danielle was no longer handling patients directly (a smart move). Instead, Felicia R. (if I read the tag correctlymy eyes were dilated) stepped in. She was much more knowledgeable and professional but still not very personable, and the checkout process went smoothly.Perhaps Danielle isnt normally assigned to the front desk, but professionalism should carry across every role.In summaryDanielle C. I had cataract surgery on both of my eyes and Im very pleased and relieved with the whole process from the lady who set up the surgery to the doctor that actually did the lense removal and replacement. I was treated with respect and everyone was very professional. I recommend Clemson Eye even if you only need an eye exam
