What should I do to prepare in the days prior to my surgery?

  • 3 days prior to surgery, start eyelid scrub or baby shampoo
  • 1 day prior to surgery, start series of drops listed on your pre-op instructions
  • 1 day start Ibuprofen 200-300 mg 3 times a day, which can be done at breakfast lunch & dinner

What should I do the morning of surgery?

  • Take Ibuprofen 200-300 mg
  • Take a shower before your surgery
  • Do not use products from the neck up like no skin care products, make up, hair products, or cologne
  • Dress warmly and in comfortable clothing as it can be cold in the surgery room

What should I do after surgery?

  • Take your drops as instructed
  • Use the artificial tears to relieve any scratchy feeling

Wear your protective eye gear that we will provide after your surgery:

  • Sun Shield-wear 1st week
  • Sleeping goggles 1st week
  • Not provided, but swim goggles are recommended for showering after surgery

What is the timeline for returning to routines after surgery?

  • 1 week post LASIK you may resume wearing eye make up
  • 72 hours after surgery you may resume working out
  • Wait 2 weeks after surgery for strenuous activities
  • Wait 2 weeks for outside activities including lawn care, construction, saunas, hot tubs, and swimming pools
