Patient Testimonials

Visual health is so important to our wellbeing.

We understand this well at Clemson Eye and bring the best in technology, training and patient care to ensure superior visual outcomes for our patients.

For our eye doctors and professional staff, there is little more gratifying than the fantastic feedback we receive from our eye care patients. Below are a few examples.

LASIK Testimonials

Morgan Fields, PA-C

As a Pediatric Physician’s Assistant, glasses continued to get in the way of her work.

After having gone through with LASIK, Morgan feels that her job as a Physician’s Assistant is much easier and so much more fun interacting with the children!

“Seeing the leaves on the trees and the clouds in the sky I feel like really changed my perspective on the world, and the beauty that we get to see every day.”

Jeff Spears, Worship Pastor

Jeff could not function without the help of glasses or contacts. LASIK was something he had always considered at some point, but he was unsure of the process.

“The more I found out about LASIK and the reputation at Clemson Eye with success stories made me realize that this could actually be a possibility.”

“Thinking back to life before LASIK, I’m very thankful I don’t have to deal with that now, and I never want to go back!”

Jordan Carlson, OD

Our very own Dr. Jordan Carlson explains how LASIK helped change his life both personally and professionally.

His everyday occupation consists of all things optics – lenses, lights, and reflections. Eliminating the factor of glasses and contacts made it a lot easier for him not to have to worry about his own sight and how it factors into his career as an optometrist.

“I truly do feel like I can better serve my patients now that I have better vision.”

Kendall Estes, Medical Esthetician

As a Medical Esthetician, it is essential for Kendall to see very small things, from extracting pores to treating vascular lesions. Glasses and contacts were an ongoing issue preventing Kendall from best serving her patients on a day-to-day basis.

LASIK with Clemson Eye was a life-changing experience for Kendall, and one that she says she will never forget.

“I can truly see and enjoy the environment around me in a way that I couldn’t before LASIK. Pretty much anyone you talk to who’s done it, their only regret is why they didn’t do it sooner!”

Savannah, Dog Breeder

Contacts made Savannah’s eyes tired, which made her job as a dog breeder difficult. She was constantly having to stop and switch to her glasses to give her eyes rest.

After pondering on LASIK for almost 15 years, she decided it was time to have surgery with Clemson Eye.

“It was really important to me to get the personal and relatable element ahead of time…Dr. Riddle treated me like an individual person, and not just a number, which I thought was really special.”

Madison Webb, Undergraduate Student

The busyness of Madison’s day-to-day life distracted her from realizing that her sight needed attention. Not having worn glasses her whole life, she had to get used to that new routine.

“I didn’t really ever feel like myself in glasses, because I had never known a life with them.”

She soon realized LASIK was an option for her and never looked back.

“It’s so much better being able to enjoy life and the beauty of everything around you.”

Dr. Joseph Parisi did my cataract surgery a couple of months ago. I am very satisfied with the outcome. I asked my regular eye doc (my Optometrist) who he would have to do it if he were having cataract surgery, and he told me Dr. Parisi is who he would go to. So, with that recommendation, I decided I would, too. I was ready to have the surgery and the first step was an extensive evaluation of my eyes. Dr. Parisi explained that it is more complicated when a patient has had LASIK surgery in the past. The main issue is getting the right strength lens implant for eyes that have been altered by LASIK.--apparently it can be tricky to get the right prescription. He gave me his recommendations for my surgery, and I had both eyes done, one week apart. It was a complete success as far as the lens implants went, which was a big concern for me. Everything else went well, too. It is a small thing, but Dr. Parisi has you use just one eyedrop once per day post-op. (The old way was to use three different drops three or four times per day. Yikes!) So, I was very pleased with my outcome and with the process getting there. The people in the office were great and the staff at the surgery center as well.

Called and received a quote on the phone stating the standard eye exam for a new patient with no insurance was $70-$140. I asked why such a gap and was told, different test cost different prices. Ok, Im fine with that until Im filling out the paperwork and read on the back of one of the sheets that an eye exam for a new patient with no insurance is $70-$200. Why tell me something different on the phone? When I finally get my bill. It was $431!!! Then I had them itemize the bill. Ready?Eye Exam, New Patient - $285.00Refraction - $76.00Contact Lens Exam Service Fee - $70.00Patient Payment CC - MasterCard - -$70.00Patient Payment CC - MasterCard - -$46.00Patient Payment CC - MasterCard - -$142.50Courtesy Adjustment - -$30.00Courtesy Adjustment - -$142.50$285 for an eye exam....also shouldnt Refraction be included in an EYE EXAM seeing as how thats basically the only thing that gets done, unless they consider dropping delating drops in your eyes the entire $285.Im not even sure what the hell the Courtesy Adjustments are for or why they even include them in the first place. Is it possibly to make us, the chumps, feel like we got a good deal?Altogether, I had to pay $258.50 for an exam that wasnt suppose to cost more than around $150. I dont ever know what to make of this bill.Im revising this review after I received a call from one of there representatives. Not long after I posted this review, I received a call from one of there representatives. She was one of the most pleasant people Ive ever spoken with on the phone. She apologized and understood my situation. They also understood that some of the current business practices needed to change slightly and had a meeting soon after to cement those changes. They even went as far as to refund me the difference from what I was quoted, to what i actually paid. I honestly was prepared to finish my life without ever visiting another Clemson Eye, but after they sorted everything out, its restored my faith in the company. Looking forward to another visit. Thank you!!

First off, the office itself is immaculate. Very modern and beautiful. The staff was super friendly upon arrival. I saw Dr. Dodgens. She was super through and attentive. It had been a while since I had been to the eye doctor and I felt very confident in her and my exam. The girls in the glasses and contacts department are so helpful. They will find and get you exactly what you want for the rice that you are willing to spend. Highly recommend.
