Laser Vision Correction (LASIK)

Today LASIK is a safe and effective laser vision correction to see clearly and naturally without dependence on glasses or contact lenses.  Clemson Eye owns and operates Spectrum Lasik to bring you unparalleled service. Located in Greenville, SC, our other Clemson Eye clinics in Anderson, Clemson, and Easley conveniently cater to all your pre and post-operative care.   With over 15 years experience in laser vision correction, our highly skilled medical team, led by Dr. Joseph Parisi, is dedicated to providing you with great clinical outcomes and customer service. We own the newest, advanced lasers and perform bladeless LASIK and Advanced Surface Ablation (ASA) so you will never have surgery performed on inferior equipment or by a surgeon not from our community.  Watch the video, "Lasik on the Frontlines," to learn how NASA and the Department of Defense have extensively adopted LASIK for their general and special forces.  Laser vision correction consultations are complimentary and available at any of our Upstate offices.  Our Spectrum Lasik location offers extended hours to accommodate busy schedules.

“The freedom experienced since LASIK is amazing!  It’s the simple things in life like focusing on the clock, wearing sunglasses, and reading street signs.  I can’t wait to use our pool this summer because finally I don’t have to worry about getting splashed by the kids or swimming in fear of losing a contact.  After being in glasses for over 20 years, it’s incredible!” -Courtney Whiten (Spectrum Lasik Patient 2011)

At Spectrum Lasik, you will receive the most advanced and enjoyable laser eye procedures available in a relaxed setting.  By researching and learning more about these treatments, you are beginning a journey.  Many people who wear contact lenses and glasses find them to be a burden and long term expense.  They spend years tolerating the inconvenience before considering the alternative that can reduce their dependence on corrective lenses and possibly eliminate them altogether!

Laser Eye Surgery has changed peoples' lives for the better.  It is an elective procedure, but it is not simply an "aesthetic" alternative to eyeglasses. People who realize the greatest success having Laser Vision Correction discover how liberating and full their lives can be without the inconvenience and cost of glasses or contacts. The ability to see better after Laser Eye Surgery has motivated patients to explore new opportunities personally and professionally.  Not only do recreational activities become easier and more enjoyable afterward, but patients also experience a new sense of independence from the restrictions of corrective lenses. However, laser vision correction is not for everyone.  We want you to make a well-informed decision when choosing this procedure.

Our Spectrum Lasik mission is to ensure you have a positive experience with the most advanced Blade-free Laser Vision Correction.  We do not support older methods of LVC such as bladed Lasik, but wish to distinguish ourselves by utilizing only the most advanced technology at an affordable cost.  Studies have shown Blade-free LASIK to be 100 times more accurate than traditional bladed-LASIK and one of the safest forms of surgical vision correction today.  At Spectrum Lasik, we own the most advanced lasers: Allegretto Wave Eye-Q and the FS200.  These outperform all other LASIK laser systems with speed, accuracy and best visual outcomes.  The outer surface of the cornea suffers no trauma as our surgeon designs a very precise incredibly small spot size incision (3 microns). Our motto is "10 Seconds to Wow!"  Our Allegretto Laser Suite customizes each procedure to the individual prescription and cornea of the patient.  By considering the special shape of your eye, Wavefront Optimized treatments improve and preserve the quality of vision by reducing the spherical distortions that can occur more frequently with other treatments.  This technology benefits you by being a safer procedure with predictably better vision at follow up exams. More patients prefer their vision and see better following Blade-free Laser Vision Correction with the Allegretto Wave Suite than with previous methods.

When you come in for your complimentary consultation, our Spectrum Lasik eye doctor will determine your candidacy and help you decide if laser vision correction is right for you.  If you determine that LASIK is the right choice, you will be in good company.  More than five million LASIK procedures have been performed worldwide in the past 10 years with almost 2 million in the USA last year alone. Information and statistics obtained during extensive clinical trials shows that nearly all patients experienced a significant improvement in uncorrected vision (vision without glasses or contact lenses) after LASIK.*  People with certain medical conditions or women who are pregnant may not be good candidates for LASIK.

Laser vision correction surgery is a major life decision.  Most people who decide to have LASIK have been considering it for a long time.  The risk of long-term contact lens wear is far greater than laser vision correction.  At Clemson Eye, we are committed to assist you with vision for life.  Now there are many other options including a Refractive Lens Exchange or Phakic IOL.

Laser Cataract and Refractive Lens Exchange Surgery employs similar technology to that of bladeless LASIK.  Today, bladeless LASIK is recognized as safer and more precise than the traditional bladed method, however, if you are over 45 and have lost your near vision, LASIK may not be the best vision correction option.  Unless, you are comfortable with mono-vision (one eye for near and one for far), then LASIK cannot provide a range of vision like the advanced lens implants.  "We were so excited to discover that the femtosecond laser, which we have been using for Lasik surgery since 2005, now has an application for cataract and refractive eye surgery," said Dr. Joseph Parisi.   Dr. Joseph Parisi, an experienced laser vision correction (LASIK) surgeon has great enthusiasm for the merging of these technologies.

At your consultation, we will help you decide if LASIK is right for you, or another option.  Please call at 864-297-8777 or book your complimentary consultation on line.  Also, you may email us at info@spectrumlasik.com if you have any other questions.

Amazing Technology

With the blade free method, tiny pulses of laser light, a quadrillionth of a second each, pass harmlessly through the outer portion of your cornea and form a uniform layer of microscopic bubbles just beneath the surface of your eye. The Wavelight® FS200 flap creation process takes about 15 to 20 seconds per eye and a total of 20 minutes for the entire LASIK procedure. When it’s time for your LASIK treatment to be performed, Dr. Parisi gently lifts the flap to apply the LASIK treatment.

Outstanding Results

More patients prefer their vision and see better after LASIK with the blade free method than with previous methods.  This technology benefits you by being a safer procedure with predictably better vision at follow up exams. Millions of procedures have been performed safely and effectively. The blade free Method also delivers outstanding results and has been shown to improve outcomes for more patients.
