Clemson Ophthalmology is one of the premier ophthalmology practices in the nation located in a beautiful university town in the Upstate of South Carolina.  We serve a large and diverse patient population.  Our primary doctors include a board-certified ophthalmologist (Joseph L. Parisi, MD, FRCSC, FACS) and a highly-trained optometrist (Nancy A. Mahlie, OD).  With our outstanding reputation in this community, our practice has a well established patient base, excellent surgical case load, and a strong referring provider network of MDs and ODs.  Delivering a very broad scope of eye care procedures and services, our physician support staff includes a licensed aesthetician, 5 caring, well-trained certified ophthalmic assistants, 4 administrative assistants, and a talented optician.

Our building is elegant and state-of-the-art.  It boasts 7 exam lanes, in-house Argon/Yag Laser, Auto-refractor, 3D Wavefront Analyzer, Keratometer, Topographer, Automated Perimeter, OCT, PHP, IOL Master, Digital Fundus Photography/Angiography, Minor Surgery suite, NLite Laser, access to an Excimer laser, as well as a fashionable Optical Shop with a Contact Lens fitting room.

Clemson Ophthalmology is well established and has been in operation since 1979.  Dr. Parisi has been practicing ophthalmology since 1991 and Dr. Mahlie has been practicing optometry since 1992.  Our doctors pride themselves in offering patients the most innovative diagnostic services and new treatments available.

Our patient population is comprised of residents from Oconee, Pickens, Anderson and Greenville counties and draws from over 150,000 local residents, students and retirees.  Our ophthalmologist performs over 800 cataract surgeries per year plus orbital, lacrimal, and minor oculo-plastic procedures.  We offer free consultations for Lasik surgery which is performed at the Woolfson Eye Institute in Greenville.  Major Eye Surgery is performed at Oconee Memorial Hospital (www.OMH.com), a local regional hospital with a lovely new ambulatory surgery wing.  Clemson Ophthalmology also offers local emergency call coverage for OMH.
